Stephen Vail Bio -- Digital Marketing Analytics Steve has over twenty years experience developing analytic tools for targeting and marketing insights across many industries including financial services, publishing, pharmaceuticals, telecom, travel and CPG. Steve is currently Sr. Data Scientist at Omnicom Media Group. He was recently Director of Advanced Analytics at Wunderman / KBMG where he developed innovative tools for online measurement: digital attribution, text mining for social media analytics, and digital tracking of customer purchase journeys. Previously Steve was President of S. Vail, Ltd, an analytics consultancy focusing on DM response, credit risk/loss and online advertising response. Prior to this Steve was Group Director of Data Mining and Analytics at Wunderman where he developed targeting, segmentation, and advertising measurement solutions for their key clients. Steve was also a consultant with Mitchell Madison Group, and before that a manager at American Express where he built targeting models for Optima, Establishment Services, and American Express Financial Advisers. His early career included pharmaceutical regulatory work as well as educational research at World Bank and Educational Testing Service. Steve holds degrees in statistics from the University of Washington and Princeton.
